ELCAN becomes a SCIO: Summer launch & gathering

Join us for a warm informal evening to launch ELCAN as a SCIO. You are invited to celebrate this new phase, welcoming both groups and individual memberships.

ELCAN recently became a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, which is a really important step in us becoming our own legal entity. This more provides freedom of direction and more sustainability over the long term to continue our work in East Lothian.

This evening will be a warm and relaxed celebration, where we share our new ways of working and connect around mid-summer. If the weather is fine, we will be outside in the hall's lovely courtyard.

This evening will give plenty of time to unpack our new SCIO structure together. Importantly, this new structure will include individuals as well as organisations as members. This new SCIO membership format will include voting rights, which only individual members will have (not groups).  We will be establishing a General Circle (in late summer) which will be the central, sociocratic space of oversight for our membership.

We thank Lil CIC for carrying us for the establishment and development of the Climate Hub over the last two years and for all the work they will continue to do with us until we are completely independent.
