Come along to be inspired and join members of East Lothian Biodiversity Collective and Food Growers Collective on a tour of Fairhill Rise at Pishwanton Woods. By visiting Fairhill Rise and seeing how they work, we will be able to see another example of what can be achieved in our local spaces, how nature can flourish and how people can use these spaces to achieve their potential. Within the site visit you will get to see and hear about:
- Woodland management and Fairhill Rise's current plans
- A quick explore to look at the meadows and a small wetland area, to hear about the wildlife it attracts (for those willing to wade through a bit of long grass!)
- Food growing / horticulture, working with small livestock (chicken and geese), food processing and preservation and using the produce locally
- Working with adults with additional needs and therapeutic gardening
The site visit will include plenty of time for discussions, questions; and then a picnic at the end to connect and network with one another.
