As part of the wider East Lothian Hedgerow Restoration project, join East Lothian Council Countryside Ranger, Kristian Purchase, in learning the basic techniques for dead hedging: a technique for using waste materials (such as cut hedgerow brash), creating a barrier against browsing, whilst creating a habitat for nature.

Please bring:

  • Clothing: sturdy footwear, long sleeves, warm trousers, additional layers to stay warm and waterproof layers.
  • Refreshments: Bring lunch and water. Refreshments and biscuits will be available (vegan and gluten free).

If you have any special requirements or health conditions to be aware of, please let us know by emailing hello@eastlothianclimatehub.org and accommodations and support can be made where possible. PPE will be provided on the day, but you are welcome to bring your own gloves and eye protection if you prefer.

This session is limited to 12 people only, who are interested in getting practically involved in hedgerow restoration in East Lothian. Over 18yrs only for this session.
