Safe at Work: Empowering Employers to Respond to Domestic Abuse

Tickets: Free - Refreshments and pastries provided

We would like to give special thanks to Reigate and Banstead Borough Council who have provided the venue for this event as well as funding through the thriving communities fund to support a number of events being held locally during this 16 days of action.  Also a huge thank you to Chalk Hills Bakery, Reigate, for reducing the cost of the delicious pastries we will be enjoying, and to local business, Rockpool Recruitment for their continued generosity — once again supporting us by covering the cost of everyone’s breakfast.

About the Event

As part of the global 16 Days of Action Against Gender-Based Violence, we invite you to a breakfast seminar  which will explore how employers can make a real difference — through understanding, compassion, and practical steps.

  • Gain insight into the impact of domestic abuse on employees
  • Understand the vital role employers can play in offering support
  • Learn practical steps to make your workplace a safe space for those experiencing abuse

Fiona Bowman MBA CIWFM FCMI
For the past 11 years Fiona has been running her own business as a Facilities Management Consultant, using her previous 25 years’ experience as a Senior Facilities Manager in the City of London. But her life story before that was completely different, escaping one morning, with the help of her employers at Standard Chartered Bank Edinburgh where she worked at the time, from an 11 year violent and abusive marriage in Scotland, to start her life again in London, with what she stood up in, not knowing where she was going to sleep that night, but having a job to go to on the Monday in Standard Chartered Bank, King William Street.

Fiona’s story of her recovery and journey is amazing. She has become not just a successful businesswoman but is also an Author, having written a book “Did I Wake You Pet?” about her experiences.

Who should attend:
Business owners, HR professionals, managers, and anyone committed to creating a safe and supportive workplace.
