Unity in Diversity – Exploring Neurodivergence
Join us for Unity in Diversity, a brand-new all-day event dedicated to the neurodivergent community of East Sussex. This isn't just an event; it’s a space to connect, create, and celebrate the unique brilliance of our diverse minds. Whether you are neurodivergent yourself, or an ally, have a personal connection or interest, come along to share your experiences and help us shape a future where every individual can thrive.
Our goal is simple but powerful: to improve the quality of life for neurodivergent people in our county through shared voice and collective action.
JUST ANNOUNCED: AudioActive will be joining us for the final session in the cinema, 3pm - 4pm for a musical performance. Artists performing will be:
Diz Lyric -
DizLyric is a rapper from the seaside town, Eastbourne, on the south coast of England. Born in 2004, he has grown up in a household surrounded by musicians and creative’s, he’s developed a unique sound that blends skippy flows with an original, nostalgic vibe. With his debut EP ICRONIC, DizLyric brings a perfect mix of sharp lyricism and laid-back energy, all wrapped up in a distinctive seaside sound. He’s creating waves by the beach and sure to leave a legacy in the rap scene as a whole.
Budd Beginnings -
Budd is a rapper/producer hailing from Brighton. She is an activist and community champion and these themes can be found throughout her music. In tracks like ‘Disarm weapons of hate, with love’.
Imani Ruiz -
Imani is a Neo-Soul vocalist, with a unique tone who blends raspy vocals with smooth R&B/Modern Jazz vibes.
What to expect from the day
·This is a free event, organised by the East Sussex Partnership Board, with the aim of bringing people together to develop neuro-inclusion.
·On the day there will be an activity area and a presentation/ film area in the cinema.
·You will need to book slots in the cinema and activity room for the times you want to be there. This will prevent areas becoming too crowded. You will only need 1 hour in the activity area, so please only book one slot for this during the day.
·The event is held at the Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne.
The activity area will include
-Talk to the Autism Advice Service
-Create your own Health or Care Passport
-Share what neurodivergence means to you
-Identify your strengths with Genius Within
-Sign up for Connect to Work (supported employment programme)
-Sharing ideas for neuroinclusion development

- The venue is physically accessible find out more here
- Timed entry helps reduce crowds and noise.
- A quiet activity slot is available from 9am -10am.
- Lighting, sound, and layout have been planned to reduce sensory overload where possible.
- You are welcome to take breaks, move around, or leave sessions at any time.
- Volunteers will be present throughout the day and are happy to help.
