Description
Managing Mental Health in the Workplace (for managers)
Poor mental health costs employers around £56 billion a year (Deloitte, 2022). Having trained managers in your organisation can help you create a mentally healthy workplace by supporting your staff's wellbeing needs.
Delivered by the Wellbeing at Work Programme in partnership with Mind in Brighton & Hove, this free half-day course for managers and leaders is designed to build confidence in supporting others, as well as providing individuals with the tools to take care of their own mental wellbeing.
Attendees will learn about what affects staff and volunteers’ mental health at work, how to recognise the signs in others and themselves, and how to best support staff with mental health issues. Other learning outcomes include:
- How to have conversations about mental health – handling disclosure and managing return to work
- Reasonable Adjustments and Wellness Action Plans
- Creating a mentally healthy workplace
- Signposting to further information and support
It is important that delegates booked onto this course are managers or have managerial responsibilities in their organisation (line manager, senior manager, middle managers, team leaders etc).
Please note that organisations can send up to a maximum of two delegates on the course.
