Description
Workplace Wellbeing Champion Training
Online training for new Wellbeing Champions, delivered by the East Sussex Wellbeing at Work Programme in partnership with One You East Sussex.
Wellbeing Champions promote healthy lifestyles and inspire others to take a more active role in their health. Having champions is a great way of ensuring that your entire organisation knows where to access support, and that there are regular activities in place to raise awareness of health and wellbeing. This course will give delegates the confidence and skills they need to become a champion of wellbeing in their organisation.
Learning outcomes for this course include:
- Understanding ‘Making Every Contact Count’ (MECC) skills, and how to use them to have conversations with colleagues
- how to run health and wellbeing activities in the workplace
- find local services and resources that colleagues can be signposted towards for support
We encourage registered employers to send at least one employee on this crucial training, as having a workplace health champion in your organisation can help you drive forward wellbeing improvements and support your journey to Wellbeing at Work accreditation. It is expected that an employee being sent on champion training will already have an interest or passion for health and wellbeing, but they don’t need any prior knowledge or training.
Once qualified, champions will gain access to networking meetings hosted by the Wellbeing at Work team, where they can access expert guidance and support, expand their knowledge of health and well being and how it relates to their workplace, learn more about health campaigns work and how they are led, and network with other members of the programme, sharing and learning from experience and best practice.
If you have any queries about Workplace Wellbeing Champion training, or the accreditation itself, please get in touch with the team at HealthyWorkplace@eastsussex.gov.uk.
