The Eden Project communities network holds spaces for community minded people to get together to support one other in making good things happen wherever we are in the UK.
Join us for this monthly online meet up with like-minded community do-ers, projects, groups or organisations.
Taking place on the first Wednesday of each month, and hosted by a member of our team, each session will:
- start with a short round of introductions
- lead into a focused chat around a chosen theme each month
- end with an 'open floor' for discussions on any thoughts, questions or challenges brought by those 'in the room'
It is a completely open and welcoming space for all, to make connections, catch up on and share projects happening, and to support each other with new ideas, solutions and inspiration for our community endeavours. Together, we can achieve a lot in just 45 minutes!
This month, on Wednesday 1 April, we'll be exploring the theme: 'Seriously Good Fun: Playfulness, Connection & Community'
This April Fool’s Day provides the backdrop for exploring the role of playfulness and joy in our communities and with our community projects/groups.
When there’s so much you want to do, so little time to do it and so much passion to make a positive impact, community work is seriously hard work. However, could building in a culture of playfulness actually make your community project stronger, more resilient, and more connected? When we treat having fun seriously, we build trust, spark creativity, reduce burnout and strengthen relationships — all essential ingredients for thriving communities.
Join us for an interactive and relaxed session with other community project organisers where, through friendly conversation; we’ll share simple, practical ways to bring fun and creativity into meetings, activities and group culture; swap ideas and learn from each other’s experiences.
Whether you are just getting started or have years of experience under your belt, we all need a sounding board or a new way of seeing things from time to time. New people are always made to feel welcome, so don't worry if it's your first time.
Let us know if there’s a theme or topic you’d like to focus on for any of the upcoming dates. Together, we can explore the people, tools, and connections we have to make it as helpful as possible.
We're excited to see you there!
