Monthly Community Chat with Sidmouth Oasis Café

The Eden Project Communities Network brings community-minded people together to support one another, turn ideas into action, and help good things happen in communities across the UK.

Join us for this monthly online meet-up with like-minded community doers, projects, groups and organisations.

On Wednesday, 4 November, we'll be joined by Andie Miles from Oasis Café in Sidmouth, a community café focused on providing people with connection, conversation and food. Working closely with the local food bank, Oasis Café supported hundreds of people during the Covid-19 pandemic to access the vital support they needed.

After hosting The Big Lunch this summer, Andie will share her experiences of building community through connection, creating welcoming spaces, and bringing people together.

Taking place on the first Wednesday of each month, and hosted by a member of our team, each session will:

• Start with a short round of introductions

• Lead into a focused discussion around a different theme each month

• End with an open floor for conversations, questions, ideas or challenges brought by those 'in the room'

It's a welcoming and informal space for everyone to make connections, catch up on and share projects, and support one another with new ideas. Together, we can achieve a lot in just 45 minutes.

Whether you're just getting started or have years of experience under your belt, we all need a sounding board or a fresh perspective from time to time. New people are always made to feel welcome, so don't worry if it's your first time joining us.
