Session 1: Faculty & Admin Adobe Firefly AI Circular Strategies

Focus: Responsible AI, disclosure, and Content Credentials across RIT disciplines.

Session Overview

This session establishes the foundation for integrating Adobe Firefly into higher education design curricula. The focus is on using AI to support conceptual development, iteration, and craft, not replace critical thinking.

Participants will:

  • Explore institutional and pedagogical approaches to AI disclosure and prompt documentation

  • Learn how Content Credentials and Verify Media Authenticity support authorship and integrity

  • Discuss strategies for integrating Firefly into assignments while maintaining design fundamentals

  • Examine bias in AI-generated imagery and approaches to critical evaluation

  • Understand Creative Cloud Pro Plus access, features, and student implementation

Important RIT Context:
Maintaining a standard of truth across digital storytelling, design, and journalism.

Pedagogical Philosophy: The “Transparent Process” Model

  • Shift the Evaluation Focus: Move from grading final artifacts to evaluating the prompt narrative and process

  • Critical Literacy as Core Competency: AI becomes a tool to test conceptual clarity

  • Ethics as Art Direction: Content Credentials function as a digital signature of authorship

Outcome:

Faculty understand how to implement Adobe Firefly to support conceptual development while preserving design thinking and authorship.
