From Concept to Craft: Teaching with Adobe Firefly

Join us for a conversation and discussion with Tina Touli and Greg Hodgson on the "why" and "how" of integrating Firefly AI into the Higher Ed design curriculum. The goal is to implement Adobe Firefly tools to support conceptual development, iteration, and craft within design, not replace thinking and design thinking strategies taught in the classroom. Hear from Tina how AI helps her as a creative and how AI relates to her career.
Participants will explore:
- Policy & Integrity: discussing approaches to develop institutional and pedological AI disclosure guidelines, requiring prompt documentation and (Content Credentials | Verify Media Authenticity) as part of the creative process.
- Structured Iteration: Teaching students to use AI to support workflows while maintaining focus on core design fundamentals like composition, hierarchy, and conceptual clarity.
- Integration: Addressing bias in AI-generated imagery and using Content Credentials to verify work.
With opportunities to:
- Discuss potential AI literacy assignments using Adobe Firefly to teach students.
- Learn about Content Authenticity, Ethical AI, and Access to partner models via Firefly.
- Learn how Firefly tools can support conceptual development, iteration, and craft within design.
- Discuss Creative Cloud Pro Plus features, credits, and access for students.
- Open floor Q&A for staff, regarding infusion into pedagogical practices, sample assignment integration, citation of student authorship, and academic integrity.
All the sessions today will be hands-on, so please be sure to bring your own laptop, fully charged.
