Who’s Shawn Hymel

Embedded engineer, edge AI expert, technical educator and bow-tie fashion trendsetter. 

Shawn Hymel has spent more than a decade making complex embedded technology understandable. He has worked with DigiKey, Microsoft, Hackster and Edge Impulse, helping thousands of developers get hands-on with technologies ranging from STM32 and Zephyr to machine learning at the edge.

Today, Shawn focuses extensively on edge AI and physical AI, exploring how machine learning moves out of the cloud and onto resource-constrained devices and real-world hardware.

As the host of An Evening of Edge AI, Shawn will guide us through the technology, challenge the hype and introduce the people actually building and deploying it.
