Edinburgh Academical Club: Burns Supper 2026

You’re warmly invited to the Edinburgh Academical Club Burns Supper 2026 at The Edinburgh Academy!

Join us for an evening of good company, good cheer, and a celebration of Robert Burns whose poems continue to be loved around the world. What better way to brighten the long winter nights than with friends, laughter, and a toast (or two!) to Scotland’s national bard?

We would love to welcome everyone in the EA community to share in this special night. Last year’s supper was a truly memorable evening, and we can’t wait to do it all again, so please do spread the word and bring others along!

Whether you’re near or far, we’d be delighted to have you join us if you’re in Edinburgh then - it would be wonderful to see you! Come along and share the evening with us - book your seat today!

Tickets: £55 per person
Your ticket includes a traditional three-course Burns Supper, a complimentary drink on arrival, and speeches from fellow Academicals. It promises to be a night to remember!

You’re welcome to book single tickets or groups (up to 10 per order). Tables will seat 10, so if you’d like a full table, simply book 10 tickets. When booking multiple tickets, please let us know dietary and accessibility details for each guest. If you don’t have all the information yet, just indicate on the form that it will follow.

Dress code: No formal dress code—though a splash of tartan is always welcome!

We’d be delighted to see you there for an evening of friendship, celebration, and plenty of Burns-style merriment.

We are excited to share our wonderful line-up of speakers with you. With this great group, we are in for a truly special evening.


Our Chairman is Jeremy Richardson (EA 1972-82) who founded Cornelian Asset Management and is now a strategic advisor to James Hambro and Partners. He was capped during Scotland vs South Africa in 1994, has played for and was committee member for the Barbarians FC. 

Georgina Usher (EA 1988-90); highly decorated and CEO of British Fencing since 2014 - we are honoured to hear Georgina give the Immortal Memory. She holds 10 individual Senior National Championship titles with multiple Commonwealth, European, and World medals, and was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2022. She also serves on the British Olympic Association Board as an elected NGB representative.

The Toast to the Lassies will be given by Ian Stirling (EA 1987-2000); Founder and Co-CEO of Muckle Brig Ltd. Established in 2014 the company has three significant brands including The Leith Distillery, Lind & Lime Gin, and The Leith export company. 

To respond we welcome Juliet Wilson (EA 1991-92) to give The Reply. A self-taught chef and starting her own catering business at just 23, we anticipate her formidable performance! Juliet opened The Stockbridge Restaurant on St Stephen Street when she was 25, she has written weekly food and opinion columns in The Edinburgh Evening News, and published her book Dinner with Juliet in 2002.
