We have worked with our tutors and current members to come up with various one-off workshops that are aimed at improving skills in particular areas, while exploring these subjects in more details
Upcoming Workshops:
Saturday 16th September: Exploring Physicality in Theatre
Whether you feel comfortable using your whole body when acting or struggle connecting to it, this fun, physical workshop will help you to explore and push yourself to use it in ways you hadn't previously discovered. You don't need to have a high level of fitness as we will work with the body that you have and within your own capabilities to explore the physical world of theatre. We will build towards devising a monologue inspired by the physicality of a painting.
Saturday 30th September: Find Your Voice
Adam will be taking his term-time voice work into a one off specialist class with a much more personalised focus. Using methods he has developed from his drama school training and from further research and experience, Adams approach to development of the voice is applicable to anyone, regardless of previous experience.
Want to be heard?
However you use your voice - from everyday talking to acting, teaching, recording - a good education in the the fundamentals of voice can help you communicate more freely, easily and consistently.
Adam helps people develop confidence and clarity in their speaking voices through this workshop in
- Breathing effectively
- Releasing physical tension
- Clear speech and enunciation
- Freeing creativity and expression
- Adapting to spaces and technologies

Join EAS tutor, former ghost tour guide and award-winning horror writer Jen McGregor and learn how to tell your own spine-chilling tales! Bring an original idea or a well-known story you’d like to put your own spin on.
The workshop will cover storytelling techniques like use of voice, characterisation, relationship with the audience, and semi-scripting (creating your own bullet-point script that nails down the important points of your story while allowing you to improvise the telling).
At the end of the workshop participants will have the option of having their story filmed.
Saturday 11th November: Audio Book Training
Learn the techniques behind reading, recording and editing audio books. In this four hour workshop we will look to unlock the potential in your voice, find out how to keep it healthy, learn how to mark up your script, tricks and tips when recording, and how to edit it yourself. All you need to know to start recording your own audiobooks.
Saturday 25th November: Audition Preparation
Adam will take you through the ins and outs of audition preparation. From preparing your pieces, and how to deal with redirection all the way to what to wear and how to present yourself. Auditions can seem daunting, but after this class you'll have the knowledge and confidence to nail your next audition whether it's online or in person.

Ever wondered how to start making a solo show? If you’d like to make a piece of theatre
where you choose the subject matter, design the character, control the schedule and
have complete ownership over your work, let EAS help you take the first step.
In this workshop you’ll learn techniques for generating material and planning the
structure of your pieces, as well as tips on marketing, pitching, whether to self-
direct/how to find a director, and the practicalities of using copyrighted material within
your own work.
