Therapy for writers: Becoming a book coach
Join Editors Toronto on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 7:00 pm EDT via Zoom for “Therapy for writers: Becoming a book coach.”

About this Program:
Editors are often the biggest cheerleaders for the writers we work with, but we usually only see a manuscript once a writer has finished drafting. What about when they’re in the thick of things? What if they have a quick problem to solve and just need a bit of guidance? What if they’re looking for an accountability partner to help establish their writing routine? Enter: Book Coaching.
Editor and coach Mary Brydon-Kehoe will lead a discussion on the fundamentals and benefits of adding this flexible skillset to your repertoire as well as how to get started with your own practice.
About the Speaker:
Mary Brydon-Kehoe is a freelance editor and book coach with a penchant for literary, mystery, and speculative fiction stories. A writer for many years herself, Mary began developing her coaching skills as a founding member of the Toronto Arts & Letters Club writing group, later building on them during her time as a human resources professional where she offered leadership coaching and support. She is passionate about supporting writers and editorial colleagues alike in achieving their goals.
Mary volunteers on the Editors Canada training and development committee and is the current chair of the Editors Toronto executive committee. You can find more about Mary through her business, Elixir Editorial.
