Edsign is pleased to be joined by Jenny Gilruth (Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills in Scotland), Jamie Dow (Principle Teacher of curriculum, and English teacher at St. Roch’s Dept for Deaf Education), Kirsten Abioye (parent of a deaf pupil and FLAAG member), and Robert Adam (Chair of the BDA) to discuss the vital topic of deaf education. The panel will explore key issues faced by deaf learners, their families, and the professionals working with them. If you would like to submit a question/issue for discussion, please email: EdSignquestionshere@gmail.com

Questions will be collated and addressed to the panel on the night.

We are also fortunate to be joined by two participants sharing their experiences of deaf education in a mainstream setting. We hope to open a longer-term discussion on this vital topic and welcome you to share your own stories too in our deaf education facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1484960725737670/

This event delves into a topic close to our community’s heart and we hope you will be able to join us, either in person or online. This event will be interpreted thanks to Heriot Watt’s continued support.

It will also be live-streamed, so if you'd like to join us online please book an online ticket and you will receive the live link ahead of the event.
