The art of Rubber Dam Isolation
Join us for this fantastic hands on day, exploring the most contemporary teaching on the placement of dental rubber dam for direct and indirect restorative procedures. We will practice the protocols involved with the isolation of both the anterior and posterior dentition using simple and reproducible techniques that you can implement in your clinical environment from day one.
The course will be limited to only 10 places.
Course Aim
The aim is to give the delegates both the theoretical and practical skills (hands on) to confidently isolate teeth for direct and indirect restorative procedures.

Most simple predictable and repeatable methods for rubber dam placement
Demystifying floss ligatures and the use of isolation tape
Maintenance of the water tight seal

Dr Hussein S Patanwala (Nasser)
Nasser was a Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry and Head of Firm for 5th BDS at the University of Birmingham, School of Dentistry for 16 years. He is one of only a few clinicians to hold memberships to three faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons London and having spent his early career in Boston working in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. He completed restorative training at the world renowned UCL Eastman Dental Institute spends the majority of his time as owner and Clinical Lead of two well respected dental clinics in Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield. He also sits on the undergraduate admissions panel for the University of Birmingham. As well as his work with undergraduates he lecturers internationally to post graduate students in adhesive and minimal intervention dentistry. Recently Nasser joined a select group of clinicians graduating with a Masters in Advanced Minimum Intervention Dentistry from King’s College London. He is a Key Opinion Leader for some of world's leading dental manufacturers developing their future dental materials.
Nasser is an experienced and popular educator in both undergraduate and post graduate practical dentistry. He has a welcoming, relaxed and supportive style of teaching that allows delegates of all experience levels to get the most out the courses they attend. He aims to support the delegates through further teaching and network after the course has finished. Many of his former students return to help him deliver the most up-to-date courses.
He currently provides teaching for the Dental Therapist Foundation Training Schemes in the Midlands on the topics of Anterior, Posterior Restorations and Treatment Planning.
