REGGAETON + REPARTO WITH EDWAR RAMOS

Thursdays | 7:30–9:00 PM | London
90-minute progressive weekly class | Open Level

A new weekly Reggaeton + Reparto class with Edwar Ramos, building from foundational movement, groove and body mechanics into sequences and choreography - Watch here!

This is not simply a class where you learn a new routine each week. We’ll work progressively on the movement underneath it — rhythm, weight transfer, hips, torso, isolations, coordination and musicality — then bring those skills into choreography.

Learn the foundations. Understand the movement. Then make it your own.

WHAT IS REPARTO?

Most London dancers know Reggaeton, but Reparto is still relatively new to the scene.

Reparto comes from Cuba’s contemporary urban music and dance culture. It has its own grounded, rhythmic movement language, with a strong emphasis on groove, hips, torso, coordination, attitude and musical expression.

Edwar’s class brings together Reggaeton, Reparto and wider movement influences, giving you the foundations behind the style rather than simply steps to copy.

You do not need previous Reparto experience, we will build it from the ground up.

WHAT YOU’LL TRAIN

• Reggaeton + Reparto foundations
• Groove, bounce and weight transfer
• Hip, chest and torso movement
• Isolations and coordination
• Rhythm and musicality
• Movement quality, texture and dynamics
• Sequences and choreography
• Progressive development week by week

Choreography is still an important part of the class, but it becomes a way to apply the movement you have trained, rather than the whole purpose of the session.

SALSA DANCERS — THIS IS FOR YOU TOO

This class is particularly useful for Salsa dancers who want more freedom and range in their movement.

Salsa training can naturally become focused on steps, patterns and combinations. Reggaeton and Reparto challenge the body differently, developing stronger grounding, weight transfer, hips, torso, isolations, coordination and groove.

That additional movement vocabulary can feed directly back into your Salsa, particularly if you are working on body movement, musicality, Timba, Cuban movement or simply becoming a more versatile dancer.

The goal is not to make your Salsa look like Reggaeton. It is to give you more control over your body and more choices when you hear the music.

WHY EDWAR?

Born in La Romana, Dominican Republic, Edwar has been dancing since childhood and has spent decades training, performing, choreographing and teaching across Latin and urban styles including Salsa, Rumba, Afro-Cuban movement, Reggaeton, Hip-Hop and Dancehall.

That breadth shapes the way he teaches. Rather than treating styles as isolated sets of steps, Edwar works with the connections between rhythm, groove, body movement, musicality and expression.

His approach is technical but accessible: understand how the movement works, train it properly, then develop your own freedom within it.
