EGFR+ Lung Cancer UK

EGFR Positive Lung Cancer UK began in 2019, when co-founders Jenny Abbott and Kathy Beattie - both diagnosed with EGFR-positive lung cancer - found there was little support available in the UK. What started as a small Facebook group has grown into a national charity supporting over 1,000 members, and a trusted voice for patients, families, clinicians, researchers and policymakers.

We became a registered charity in 2020, and since then have worked in advocacy, education and policy - from treatment appraisals with NICE and the Scottish Medicines Consortium, to campaigns like See Through the Symptoms and All You Need is Lungs, to speaking in Parliament on drug access and cancer care.

At our heart remains the mission Jenny and Kathy set out with: to make sure no one faces EGFR-positive lung cancer feeling isolated or unheard.
