Join us for Eight Ball Theatre's 3rd annual Staged Reading Festival! We are proud to present three new plays by up-and-coming playwrights.
SCHEDULE
September 24th at 8:00 PM // Crushed Bones (And Other Vices) by Kamila Boga.
Five students have just begun their freshman year at an arts high school. As their younger selves break apart, twist off, and blend up their corporeal forms to prove their dedication to The Craft, their adult selves reflect on how these experiences shaped them, for better or for worse.
Directed by Zoe Lesser
Dramaturg: Jalen McKoy
Stage Manager: Erin Newsom
September 25th at 8:00 PM // We Pump Your Gas in Jersey by Makeda Declet.
In New Jersey, the last state where you can’t pump your own gas, four people cling to routines that keep them in place. When Stevie, an old-timer with stuck feet, can’t stop thinking about Tucson, she sets off a chain reaction that forces everyone to confront their resistance to change.
Directed by Sarah Showich
Dramaturg: Sun Jin
September 26th at 8:00 PM // RECYCLE, BABY! by Kate McMorran.
It’s the near future, and humans are giving birth to plastic babies due to the amount of microplastics inside us. When a plastic baby named SPRITE is revealed to never age (because plastic lasts forever!) he is passed from generation to generation in this century-spanning exploration of what it means to be human living in a plastic world.
Directed by Bebe Katsenes
Dramaturg: Maggie Franckhauser
Stage Manager: Garrett J. Henry
