Find inspiration and learn techniques that will help you start (or rekindle) a drawing practice by keeping a visual journal or sketchbook.
Through visual journaling we cultivate an appreciative way of looking at our surroundings that brings awareness, gratitude and joy.
As well as art techniques, you will learn how to work with your mind to overcome negativity and let creativity flow.
This class is suitable for those starting an art practice as well as stablished artists that want to rekindle their practice or who simply enjoy exploring new things with other artists.
Topics we will cover:
- Working with line, tone and marks.
- Finding subjects.
- Composition.
- Developing new drawings from visual notes.
- Reviewing a session and planning further work.
The theme of this first class is observational drawing. We will be sketching in a studio space and out and about in Brixton.
I am an artist and illustrator based in Brixton. My teaching is grounded on my own art practice and my desire to share the joy of art making with others.
You can check out my work on my website
To make the sessions as affordable as possible, I'm offering this class at a reduced rate, however if you are unable to afford it, please don't let that be a barrier and contact me, a few bursaries will be available.
