Apple Butter Festival

Enjoy an outdoor festival celebrating the Scots-Irish heritage of a colonial-era mill community. See old-fashion apple butter making over open fires. Take a turn stirring and buy a few jars! Bagpipe, dulcimer and fiddle music fill the air throughout the day. Artists and craftspeople demonstrate and sell their wares. Learn about the history of the area and take a step back in time inside the 18th century stone buildings. Find a seat by the fire in the tavern and taste traditional Scottish foods. Meet local artist Geraldine McKeown in a mill workers home. Watch a blacksmith at work in the cooper's shop. Relax on a hay wagon ride down a country road. Admission is free and no tickets are needed. This is our largest annual fundraising event. But more than that, it's a community tradition. You can feel the buzz of festivity, with friends and neighbors gathering at the Bee Hive as they have for more than two hundred years. We hope you'll join us!
