Join professional forager, Emanuelle, on a late spring foraging experience at Woodland Valley Farm, near Truro in Cornwall.

During the foraging walk, which lasts up to 3 hours, we will identify, pick and taste a variety of wild foods that are abundant during these lovely spring months. We will be focusing on wild spring greens, herbs, edible flowers and plants for teas.

As well as learning how to safely identify wild foods, there will be discussion around seasonal eating, sustainable practices, medicinal use and folklore. We will touch on how to use these wild ingredients in our cooking as well as how to preserve them. With food security being an important topic, this event aims to show how foraging can truly be implemented into any lifestyle, wherever you you live!

The group will meet in the beautiful wooden roundhouse at Woodland Valley Farm; a 170 acre regenerative farm, and also home to the Cornwall Beaver Project! There will be an introduction over tea or coffee followed by the foraging walk around the farm land, surrounding fields and woods. If we are lucky, we may be able to spot the beavers, who have been living happily at the farm since 2017. We will then return to the roundhouse to share a seasonal picnic lunch, supplemented by some of our finds on the walk.

The lunch will be primarily plant-based with some vegetarian elements. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements or allergies. We can cater for vegan and gluten-intolerant diets, however because gluten is handled in the same kitchen, unfortunately we cannot cater for those who are severely gluten intolerant or coeliac.

Tickets are £65 per adult and £20 for under 16s (accompanied by a paying adult), which includes the walk, lunch and drinks. Tickets are free for babies or toddlers who will not require a foraged lunch.

Please bring water and wear suitable clothing and footwear to be walking outdoors for around 3 hours in the unpredictable Cornish weather. The walk might include some rough or steep terrain and stiles. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the route, this event is not suitable for wheelchair users. There is parking and toilets on site.

Alternative dates on the 22nd March and 19th of April (just click the name banner at the top of the page to find the list of events). We hope to see you there!
