No Kiss, a new play by Emily Hynds, in August at Alabama Song in Houston

No Kiss is a darkly comedic play that starts mid-catastrophe: a break up. Sam and Jack have been together for years but something cracked and Sam can't take it anymore, which is news to Jack. Enter their roommate, Rahul, who has no idea what's going on and somehow ends up along for the ride as his friends go through the devastating experience of falling out of love. No Kiss is written and directed by Emily Hynds and features Kathleen Gullion, Joe Wozny, and Rahul Rao.

Emily Hynds is a writer and artist in Houston, TX. She co-produces the monthly storytelling series Grown-up Storytime and writes and produces her own plays, often in someone's living room. Emily’s plays are über naturalistic; mumblecore-esque; anti-establishment; and intimate in theme, environment, and presentation. Her plays feature characters blindsided by confrontation in the small moments of everyday life. Emily is interested in what we (she) feels bad about, and why. Her plays have been described as “insightful and wry and really fucking funny.”

No Kiss will be at Alabama Song (2521 Oakdale Street, 77004) on August 27-29 and September 3-5. All shows start at 8pm and cost $20.
