Bal Folk is a term used to describe the revival of old folk dances from Western Europe, with a focus on French traditional music and dancing.
Come with or without a partner, and be led through a variety of dances including couple dances like the scottish, waltz, mazurka and polka, French village dances like the bourrée, rondeau (from central and south western France) and snakey chain dances from Brittany on the west coast of French.
Emilyn and John play fiddle, clarinet, and accordions. They have released 4 albums of original and traditional music. They've toured this music and led dances across Canada, and are frequently in France dancing and playing music.
Tickets for this event are non-refundable, but if you can't make it please feel free to give your ticket to a friend!
