Got Friction? Optimising Flange Fitting in the Hospital and Community Setting

Sat 10 Oct 2026 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Derbyshire

What is this Workshop? Flange fitting is a hot topic in the world of lactation, and in addition to "friction" being something we want to avoid for our clients when they are expressing milk, there can also be "friction" between what hospital lactation care providers are recommending vs. what lactation supporters in the community recommend. Let's get together and explore the why's and how's of this "new" way of flange fitting!

This workshop explains and demonstrates how to approach pumping and flange fitting for families, using the Flange FITS™ Guide, created by Jeanette Mesite Frem, MHS, IBCLC, CCE. The workshop is led by Amber Clark who is one of the Babies in Common "Approved Flange Fitting Instructors", who has specific training and experience in flange fitting within the NHS as an Infant Feeding Lead and within the private community setting. Amber is the creator and driving force behind the Early Breastmilk Toolkit created for the NHS to bring Flange Fitting into the hospital setting. Early Breastmilk Toolkit

We will cover more than just flange fitting in this hands on workshop: I will share my Top Tips for Expressing Breastmilk, how to implement flange fitting into the hospital setting, and much more. Join us for an interactive, enjoyable day that will challenge everything you think you know about how to optimise the expression of breastmilk.
