SYZYGY - Half Day Outdoor Retreat At Upperdown Meadow

• Elephant Rooms South Street Derby, England, DE72 3PP (Parking Location) - the meadow is an 8 minute walk.

Upperdown Meadow is just 0.5 miles from Elephant Rooms - off Wilne Road, adjacent to the River Derwent.
Please note: there is no general parking at the site, on-street parking is available around Elephant Rooms in Draycott, west of South Street.

Join us for a nourishing half-day retreat in the beautiful meadow at the Elephant Rooms, where creativity, nature, and healing come into alignment.

Inspired by the concept of Syzygy, we invite you to gather with us in nature and move through a series of guided experiences designed to awaken creativity, cultivate presence, and support personal reflection.

No previous experience with writing, meditation, or creative practice is needed. This is not about performance or perfection, but about curiosity, connection, and self-discovery.

What to expect:

A rough guide: (Subject to change)

1.45pm – Arrival and settling into the meadow

2.00pm – Welcome, introductions and intentions

2.30pm – Opening meditation and journalling

3.00pm –  Nature connection and exploration 

330pm – Creative prompts for activity of choice; writing/drawing

4:15pm - Break

4:30– Mindful movement 

5pm – Fire gazing meditation and journalling 

5.30pm – Closing circle (Around the fire)

6pm - Close and farewells

Please bring water, camping chairs if required and blankets, a pen and journal (if you have one) and any crystals of your choice (if you would like them to journey with you!)

Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that plans can change, and we want our cancellation policy to feel fair while also allowing us to plan and prepare for each Syzygy gathering.

More than 7 days before the event

Cancellations made more than 7 days before the event are eligible for a full refund.

Between 7 days and 48 hours before the event

Refunds may be offered at our discretion, depending on the circumstances and whether we are able to reallocate the place. Where possible, we will do our best to accommodate cancellations or transfer your place to another person.

Within 48 hours of the event

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds for cancellations made within 48 hours of the event, as by this stage we will have committed to venue, catering and other event costs.

If Syzygy needs to be cancelled or postponed by us, you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer your booking to the rescheduled date. Thank you for understanding and for helping us keep these gatherings sustainable and accessible.
