We all have an inner critic or a Super-Ego, as Freud called it. This inherent psychological coding or imprint in our personality manifests as an inner soundtrack or commentator that constantly rates our behaviour, thinking patterns and emotional state – all designed to keep us within the confines of the Ego.

The hidden treasure in this psychological mechanism is the inadvertent guiding that lights the parts of us that are longing for attention, tenderness and healing.
