Three years ago, Sharif Hassan sold his kidney to begin a new life in Barcelona. Now, he acts as a broker for an underground clinic – convincing new immigrants to trade their organs for money. When his boss’ bipolar son acts as a whistleblower, Sharif is forced to ask how far he
is willing to compromise his morals, to provide a future for his family. Currently in post-production. Due for release in 2025.

About Darragh McKeon
Now living in Miltown Malbay, Darragh McKeon is the author of two bestselling novels. His debut ‘All that is Solid Melts into Air’ was a New York Times Editor’s Choice and in France won the LIRE prize for best international debut. His second novel ‘Remembrance Sunday’ received the 2024 Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year award.
As a theatre director, he has worked with some of the world’s leading production houses - The Royal Court (London), The Young Vic (London) and Steppenwolf Theatre (Chicago). Akhirah is his debut feature film.
