2027 Derailment Investigation & Prevention Workshop

Join us April 6-9, 2027, for the Derailment Investigation & Prevention Workshop at the Transportation Technology Center (TTC) in Pueblo, Colorado; the most advanced facility for rail testing and training in North America.

This is an advanced, three-day training course designed for professionals involved in rail safety, derailment prevention, incident investigation, and system operations. The workshop blends technical classroom instruction with live field exercises, all led by experienced instructors and subject matter experts.

Participants will:

• Learn how to assess derailment sites and collect critical data
• Examine real-world derailment scenarios and contributing factors
• Explore industry best practices in track, rolling stock, and operations
• Gain exposure to inspection tools, vehicle dynamics, and failure analysis
• Participate in hands-on exercises in TTC’s dedicated derailment training areas
• Engage in peer collaboration and discussion throughout the program

• Optional Friday morning site tour (March 27) at no additional cost
