Workforce Development Training for Shortline and Passenger Railway Professionals at TTC
The Transportation Technology Center (TTC), operated by ENSCO, invites shortline and passenger railway professionals to participate in a specialized workforce development training program funded through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s CRISI Grant.
This free, three-day course focuses on maintaining the structural integrity of rail. Classroom instruction covers surface conditions, internal flaws, and neutral temperature management, supported by real-world derailment case studies including Hatfield (UK, 2001), Crescent City (FL, 2002), and Ellicott City (MD, 2012). Field exercises include rail inspections, exploration of TTC’s rail defect library, and demonstrations of state-of-the-art inspection and measurement technologies.
