Concert 1 Fresh Voices - Monterey

For our opening concert we are excited to introduce to you our extraordinary, young guest conductor, Alan Truong. This concert features beautiful music for a mix of winds and strings. We begin with the colorful Sinfonietta by Benjamin Britten. Next you’ll hear a mysterious and exotic new composition, Meditation on a Theme by Mitri el-Murr, written by local, young composer Ealaph Tabbaa. We will present Mozart’s Quintet in E flat major K.452. Originally written for piano and winds and arranged for this concert by our guest conductor, Maestro Troung. Lastly, we present a recently unearthed romantic gem, Dezett, by German composer Gustav Helsted.
