Stepping up: in conversation with the Grantham Institute
This Stepping Up session will be taking on a slightly different format. Instead of just speaking to one environmental leader we'll be hearing from The Grantham Institute, specifically Nicola Ranger and Tom Tayler two of the team leading Earth Capital Nexus.
Combining advanced geospatial and financial analytics and environmental economics with regulatory, policy and development expertise Nicola and Tom are working to rewire capital flows towards resilient, nature-positive and inclusive prosperity - no small task.
This session will be exploring the role of funders in Stepping Up to support this "rewiring" - what is the role of philanthropy in boosting shifting capital flows to enable nature positive and inclusive prosperity?

About Nicola Ranger
Professor Nicola Ranger is Executive Director of Earth Capital Nexus and Professor in Practice of Natural Capital, Risk and Finance in the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She leads interdisciplinary research and policy engagement at the nexus of finance, investment, natural capital, resilience and sustainable development with a global focus.
Professor Ranger is a globally recognized expert in sustainable finance, climate and nature, and systemic resilience. Her research focuses on integrating climate and nature risks into financial decision-making, developing innovative financial instruments, green fiscal policy, debt sustainability and mobilizing investment for sustainable development. She works closely with financial institutions, central banks, governments, and international organizations.
About Tom Tayler
Tom is Director of Policy and Finance and Distinguished Policy Fellow at Earth Capital Nexus and leads on policy engagement with governments, regulators, and other experts to support the practical application and implementation of Earth Capital Nexus’ work and research.
