Purpose of the Quebec Education System

Along with education, "they also have a responsibility to help students take their place in society, by familiarizing them with basic social knowledge and values and giving them the tools they need to play a constructive role as citizens." (as described in the Quebec Education Program in section 1.2 of the document)

Now more than ever, it is imperative that the parents take charge of the narrative and establish within their children their own values.

Current climate for our children

Our children are being compelled to accept and celebrate various ideologies which are not our own and which are contrary to our principles. Now more than ever, we need to take charge of educating our children or risk the chance of losing them.

Why establish a "Support" program?

Legal Responsibility

Under the heading of "home schooling", the parent is ultimately responsible for the education of their children. Any person or institution who comes in any other capacity is merely supporting or assisting the parent in fulfilling their responsibility and cannot legally take the responsibility to educate your child. 

Whether it be a consultant who helps the parent put together a learning plan to achieve throughout the year, a tutor who assists the parent in covering material and filling in any blanks for subjects in which the parent does not have proficiency, all these people are supporting the parent.  

Uncharted territory

Many of us who have grown up in this country and who have been through the school system are comfortable with navigating the system to which we have been exposed. On the other hand, we are uncertain of how to navigate the home school system and could use a helping hand to get through it.

Red Tape

There are many formalities attached to home schooling with which we could stand to get help. Just having a helping hand through these formalities gives us the courage to push through and to overcome them.

Support for the parents

Parents will receive support to assist them in fulfilling their responsibility by providing information sessions on the matters with respect to reporting to the ministry of education, workshops to improve your ability to educate your children, and other aspects with respect to their upbringing.

Support for the children

Children will receive tutoring, exercises and evaluations within a conducive environment for them to maintain their Islamic identity.
