In association with EppyFest and the Eppy Gibbon Podcast Music Show, Saturday 28th December, 2024, will see a special evening of live and eclectic musical entertainment at Smokey Joe's Diner, at 16 Bennington St, Cheltenham, GL50 4ED, which will help you break out of your Chrimbo Limbo. Following two years of successful Chrimbo Limbo musical events, this year we return with the imaginatively titled Chrimbo Limbo 3.

For this year's headliner, we are thrilled to announce that Kavus Torabi will be taking to the stage. Kavus is an experimental/psychedelic musician with a long history in the field, having played with Cardiacs and also fronting his own band, Knifeworld. He currently plays with Gong and The Utopia Strong, as well as recording and performing solo under his own name. Kavus will be performing material from his excellent solo albums, 'Hip To The Jag' and this year's 'The Banishing', though you may also get to hear some Knifeworld tracks done in a paired down format and maybe even some new tunes. You can certainly expect an intimate and charismatic take on the weird and the wonderful. His set should be starting at around 9pm.

Second on the bill will be Psychedelicat, the UK-based psych-folk-pop duo consisting of Rebsie Fairholm and Marvin B. Naylor. Marvin's unique 60s-marinaded psych-pop meets Rebsie's dark chocolate psych-folk to create new dimensions in jangle, and their live set could include everything from shimmering psychedelia to Iron Maiden-style bass guitar. The set will include a mixture of material from their debut album 'Like A Delicate Psychedelicat' (described by The Progressive Aspect as, "a unique and very appealing psychedelic folk soundworld"), and from their solo back catalogues. They should be on from around 8pm.

And the evening's live music will begin with Phil Mercy's Blind Convergence. Phil is perhaps best known as the guitarist with band Thieves' Kitchen, but definitely don't expect a solo set of stripped down Thieves' Kitchen tracks. Instead, Blind Convergence is an exciting improvisational instrumental guitar and electronica project, which has been described as what it might sound like if Allan Holdsworth had jammed with Boards of Canada. We are very happy to be welcoming Phil back, particularly after a well received set at the very first Chrimbo Limbo in 2022. Phil's Blind Convergence set will begin at around 7pm.

Doors for the event will be around 6:30pm and the live music should be finished by around 10:30pm.

Advance tickets for the evening are available now and will be cheaper than buying tickets on the door on the night.
