ESCAPE: American Portraits | In Aid of the CBSO
Album Promotion Concert
Epsilon Brass are proud to promote their debut Album recorded in aid of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO). In this event, you will be treated to selections from the album performed by Epsilon Brass. All proceeds from the album and ticket sales from this event will be directed to the CBSO; in light of expected budget cuts to the orchestra, we want to highlight the significance of their work in our cultured city and what a future without them could look like.
Programme
Ewazen - Frost Fire
Bernstein, arr. Gale - West Side Story Suite
McKee - Vuelta Del Fuego
Note: there is no interval for this event; the event should last approximately an hour.
We regret to inform you that the catering area will not be open for refreshments.
At the end, there will be the chance to meet the musicians and pre-order the album, for which the suggested donation is £10.
Epsilon Brass
Epsilon Brass are an award-winning chamber music group composed of 5 diverse young artists from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. A recipient of the Bernard Brown Chamber Prize, and finalists in the Leamington Music Prize and Andrew Downes Performance Prize, their ambition is to deliver gripping performances of the highest standard. Within this framework, they strive to create an inclusive, welcoming, and accessible performance platform. This is reflected through the repertoire they perform encompassing a variety of styles. From mainstream brass quintet works to overlooked and innovative pieces shaping today’s chamber music scene. Each of its members is passionate about delivering these core values.
Epsilon has been fortunate to procure a growing list of engagements, having given concerts in notable venues such as St Philip’s Cathedral, Birmingham. In March 2024, they made their debut at the Justham Auditorium of the CBSO (City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra) Centre as part of their ‘Centre Stage’ Concerts. Last September, Epsilon had the privilege of performing on behalf of the CBSO for the Birmingham Botanical Garden’s World Heritage day. This April, they look forward to performing at Birmingham Botanical Gardens’ ‘Alice’s Easterland Adventure.’
