Ride Like Nobody’s Watching
Less pressure. More riding.
You know the one!
You’re at the yard, the horse is tacked up, and then someone walks into the school. And that voice pipes up.
“They can all see how nervous I am.”
“Look how easily she rides. I used to be good at this.”
“What must they think of me?”
So you wait until the yard goes quiet. Or you give it a miss, and go home with a lump in your throat. If that’s you, I hear you. You are not broken, and you haven’t forgotten how to ride. Your brain has just put you under a spotlight that isn’t really there. So let’s switch it off.
Ride Like Nobody’s Watching
Live online workshop
On Google Meet, from your own sofa
What it is
About an hour with me, live, with time at the end for your questions. I’ll show you why your brain makes you feel watched, and teach you three simple tools to ease it. We’ll practise each one together on the night, so you’re not just listening, you’re doing.
Who it’s for
This is for you if:
You’re sure everyone is watching and judging when you ride.
You wait until the school is empty, or the yard has gone quiet.
You compare yourself with the rider you used to be, or with the riders around you.
You hold back from lessons, shows or posting about your riding because of what people might think.
You can still ride, but it feels like you’re riding for an audience in your head.
You don’t need to have come to any of the other workshops. This one stands on its own.
What you’ll leave with
An understanding of why it feels as if everyone’s watching, and why the spotlight is far dimmer than it feels.
A way to step out of other people’s shoes and see what’s really there.
A way to release that exposed feeling from your body.
A new measure for “good enough” that moves with the day, so perfect isn’t the target.
You’ll also get a workbook to keep, so you can use the tools again at home and at the yard.
One more thing
Everything we do is private. You won’t be asked to share anything personal, and nobody will put you on the spot. Camera on or off, whatever suits you.
No rush, no pressure, just one step at a time. But if you’d love to ride like nobody’s watching, come and join me.
P.S. One rider who came to our first workshop had this to say:
“Last night I attended the online live Stop Anxiety and Start Riding workshop. It was very informative and showed us useful breathing techniques to help…. I put this into practice before I went to bed and had a really good night sleep!”
“Today Woody and I did a hacking route we haven’t done for ages! … Buzzing!” Lucy & Woody
