Equine Grass Sickness Fund Conference

We cordially invite you to the Equine Grass Sickness Fund 2026 Conference, held at the Moredun Research Institute, Edinburgh.

Equine Grass Sickness is a disease of the equine nervous system which affects horses and donkeys. It is 80% fatal to those who contract it and is still a worrying cause of equine mortality in the UK and internationally. The Equine Grass Sickness Fund is the only UK charity dedicated to raising funds specifically for research into grass sickness. 

A range of speakers will be presenting throughout the day, including scientists, vets and experts in grass sickness and equine health.

Event Address for those attending in person:

Moredun Institute, Pentlands Science Park, Bush Loan, Penicuik, Midlothian, EH26 0PZ

The institute is accessible via car (there is ample parking both in the park and nearby), and via Lothian buses. 

Arrival is between 08.30 and 09.15 for a 9.20 start, and the speakers will finish at 16.30. You are welcome to leave at 16.30, but tea/coffee will also be provided at the end of the day (16.30 until 17.30).

There will be a small number of stall holders available to chat to in the atrium.

Lunch will be provided on the day as well as tea/coffee and pastries in the morning. Water fountains are available throughout the institute, please bring a reusable bottle along if you wish to.

The conference will be recorded and tickets will be available to purchase for the online event if you do not wish to attend in-person. The link will be provided to you nearer the event. An online link will be emailed to all ticketholders in case they wish to access the recording after the event.
