New Forest Bal and workshop with Confluence Duo

A summer dance in the New Forest, with Eurobal Wessex founders Confluence Duo - Alasdair Paton on accordion, Gill Redmond on cello.  They weave beautiful music from the balfolk and French traditions with their own compositions, and play frequently at French dance clubs around the UK, as well as at festivals including Chippenham, Sidmouth, Priddy and Oxford Folk Festival

There will be couple-dance classics and some fun group/community dances from the balfolk and French traditions.  Beginners welcome - French dances are not "called" like a ceilidh, but there will be an introductory workshop to get you started, and the dances are easy to pick up and join in with.

Doors at 2pm, workshop at 2.15-3pm, dancing from 3.15-5.30pm. Tickets £12 adults / £8 students and teens.

Tea/coffee will be available; you can get snacks in the farm shop just down the road, which also has a cafe.
