The Fifth Summit of European Jewish Leaders
Rethinking the place of the Jews in a tumultuous Europe
The XXI century has started with three main milestones: the Pandemic, the war in Ukraine and the rise of the extreme far right as a symptom of a new normal. However, nothing of this is new in Europe. Since the end of WWII, we have seen an amazing and unparalleled time of growth and peace (with the exception of the Yugoslav Wars) and it seems it is over. The uncertainty of the beginning of the century has shifted to times that show life in Europe is far from being easy and there are important clouds in the future.
Recognizing these dilemmas, after three years of not having in-person meetings among Jewish leaders, it is time, more than ever, to celebrate what we have achieved for Jewish life in Europe, by coming together to strengthen our bonds, as well as to learn and to discuss how we as Jewish leaders are dealing with many critical issues in our Communities.
Issues like:
· the current economic crisis which is severely affecting the people in our countries
· the refugee crisis
· the rise of the far-right
· The relations between Israel and the Jews in Europe.
· New challenges: dealing with different identities and gender issues
· New social trends affecting the model of families.
· The present and future of youth
· New ways of managing our organisations
.Communities Growth after Crisis/Trauma
The Fifth Summit will be the right platform where participants will have the chance to discuss and think together. Led by experts and recognised speakers on critical issues affecting Jewish life and their Communities.
Join us on March 26th-28th (plus an amazing Shabbat experience) in Berlin for an unprecedented gathering by raising the European and Jewish flags and tackling issues by bringing all of us around the same table.
