On June 30th, the Young European Movement UK, Wales for Europe, EuroPeers UK, European Parliament Liaison Office in the UK, CILL UK, the European Movement in Scotland and the European Movement UK will collectively host a webinar with representatives of all UK’s devolved nations and the EU, to explore the opportunities for UK and EU students to participate in student mobility programmes following the UK’s withdrawal from the Erasmus+ programme.

Speakers will include:

  • Jeremy Miles - Welsh Government Minister for Education. Former Minister for European Transition
  • Michael Russell - SNP President, and Cabinet Secretary for Education
  • Stephen Farry - Deputy Leader of the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland

Plus other speakers to be announced shortly

With speakers being decision-makers involved in the development of post-Brexit student/work exchange opportunities, the event will explore how each of the devolved nations is looking to fill the gap left by the loss of Erasmus+.

The headline is that - with a variety of different approaches to life after the Erasmus+ programme - British and European students, or staff in education and youth organisations, are unaware or uncertain about their eligibility in international opportunities.

This is why the focus of this event will be to discuss the question of: What does the withdrawal of the Erasmus+ programme mean for the prospects and mobility of UK and EU youth?
