SC1 London Pathfinders 2026
Experiment. Ask questions. Explore your health and life sciences future.
This London Life Sciences Week, SC1 London is joining forces with London South Bank University to support young people across South London to discover and be inspired by the future of health and life sciences.
SC1 Pathfinders puts young people at the heart of health and life sciences, giving them opportunities to experiment, ask questions, explore future pathways and shape how the sector benefits their communities.
What does health and life sciences have to do with you? More than you might think...
Life sciences help us understand living things, improve health, develop new technologies and tackle some of the biggest health challenges facing our communities and the wider world. Whether you are interested in science, health, technology, creativity, communication or working with people... you could be part of it right here in South London.
What to expect?
🔬 Take part in a live experiment
Get involved in hands-on experiments. Explore science and discover how it connects to everyday life and different training and job opportunities
🎤 Have your say at Young People’s Question Time
What would you ask the people studying and working in health and life sciences? Young People’s Question Time will put young people in the driving seat, giving you the chance to put your questions directly to professionals from across the sector.
Ask about their work, the routes they took, the barriers they faced and the changes they think are coming next. The conversation will be shaped by the questions and issues that matter to young people.
💡 Discover different pathways
Life sciences are not just about becoming a scientist or working in a laboratory... though you could! Meet people following different routes into the sector and learn about courses, apprenticeships, technical roles, healthcare, research, technology, innovation and creative careers.
🤝 Make new connections
Meet other young people from Lambeth and Southwark and the people working across health and life sciences. There will also be time to connect, learn, share ideas and enjoy refreshments too.
