Kintsugi: The Art of Mending with Tiffany Thompson
Kintsugi: The Art of Mending with Tiffany Thompson
Everwood Farmstead Foundation is proud to present the Artist Workshop "Kintsugi: The Art of Mending" with Tiffany Thompson on Saturday, September 14th from 10:00 am - 3:30 pm!
In today's culture, broken things are usually discarded. Faced with a cracked plate, our natural tendency is to move forward and reach for something new. However, the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi offers us a different approach. Kintsugi became commonplace in late 15th Century Japan as a way for families to mend broken teaware. Kintsugi embraces imperfection and brokenness as a way to a more beautiful creation. By filing cracks with gold, Kintsugi turns broken objects into stunning reminders of beauty and strength across generations. In this Workshop, participants will learn a contemporary approach to the traditional art of Kintsugi. For more info: TiffanyThompsonMusic.com
