Everwood Farmstead Foundation is proud to present the Artist Workshop "Podcasting: Planning, Hosting and Editing" with Julie Censullo on Saturday, September 26th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm!
Podcasting is an inherently intimate and relatively accessible medium – storytellers and hosts are able to speak directly into the ears of their listeners. But creating a podcast that listeners actually want to download isn’t so easy. In this workshop, participants will work on developing a podcast from an idea to a unique, actionable plan. Participants will learn the basics of audio recording, editing and publishing a podcast, and explore ways to maximize audio as a medium. Participants will also practice techniques for conducting authentic, engaging interviews. By the end of this workshop, participants will have all the tools they need to start their very own podcast.
Julie Censullo is an audio producer, editor, storyteller and artist based in Minneapolis, MN. Her work spans the gamut of audio storytelling: from two-way interview shows to documentaries to audio dramas. She retreated at Everwood in 2025, and spent the week sound designing her spooky audio fiction series Out Cold. She is currently the host and producer of Choosing, a podcast that explores the different paths people take to become parents, and she produces the Moth StorySLAM in the Twin Cities. Previously, she edited the award-winning Minnesota arts, culture, and history show MinneCulture and was a line producer and field producer for Twin Cities PBS. Julie was a finalist for Best New Artist at the 2023 Third Coast International Audio Festival and was a recipient of a FY25 Creative Individuals Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. Her audio art has been featured at festivals around the U.S, as well as in Canada, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and Lithuania.
