The Combined Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) and Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course covers a range of essential CPR and first aid skills for adults and children. It equips employers and their staff with the knowledge and abilities to minimise risks and hazards in the workplace.
This one-day Combined Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) and Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is for anyone over the age of 16 that has contact or works with both adults and children. This course combines two qualifications into one course.
All of our First Aid qualifications are delivered through RLSS UK and are CIMSPA endorsed, which means it has been quality-assured by CIMSPA. RLSS UK is an active member of the First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum (FAAOF) whose remit is to collaborate on best practice and maintain quality to ensure the integrity and currency of regulated qualifications.
About the Combined Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) and Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Course
The RLSS UK Qualifications Level 3 Combined Emergency Paediatric First Aid and Emergency First Aid at Work course covers a range of CPR and emergency first aid skills, empowering the first aider to address various injuries and illnesses in adults and children.
This one day course combines the following individual courses:
- Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA)
- Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
The two qualifications are Ofqual, CCEA and Qualification Wales accredited and valid for three years from the date of assessment. It is suitable for anyone who has contact or works with adults, children and/or infants (babies).
The Combined EPFA and EFAW course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as practical and multiple-choice theory assessment of CPR and first aid.
Combined Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) and Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Course Content
A range of subjects are covered within the Combined Emergency Paediatric First Aid and Emergency First Aid at Work course, including:
- Understanding the role of the first aider and paediatric first aider.
- How to manage and provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally (adult, child and infant).
- How to manage and provide first aid to an infant, child, or adult suffering from shock.
- How to assess an incident and emergency situation and act safely and effectively.
- How to recognise and provide first aid for an infant, child, or adult with a foreign body airway obstruction (choking).
- How to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding.
- How to handle a casualty with a minor injury.
- How to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally.
Combined EPFA and EFAW Qualification UCAS and CPD Points
RLSS UK’s Combined Emergency Paediatric First Aid and Emergency First Aid at Work qualification offers candidates the following continual professional development (CPD) and university application points:
CPD Points:
Emergency Paediatrics First Aid (EPFA) = 3.5 CIMSPA Points
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) = 3.5 CIMSPA Points
UCAS Points:
Emergency Paediatrics First Aid (EPFA) = 8 UCAS Points
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) = 8 UCAS Points
Cancellations & Refunds
Full refunds (less administration fee) will be issued for all cancellation requests received more than 4 weeks in advance of the start of the course or event.
Cancellation / refund requests received between 14 and 28 days prior to the start of the course / event will have the option of either a 50% refund or a voucher for 100% of the fee paid that can be used on an alternative Everybody Academy course / event. This must be used within 12 months of the date of issue.
Cancellation / refund requests received with less than 14 days notice prior to the start of the course/event will not be eligible for a refund/voucher
We reserve the right to consider claims of exceptional circumstances for cancellation/refund requests made in advance of the start of the course/event. Please note that you may need to provide evidence to support claims of exceptional circumstances.
All refunds will be made to the original payment method.
We will not refund or provide vouchers for candidates who fail to meet the stated minimum requirements or prerequisites for any course/event
