WALK: London Walking Festival - Regent’s Canal
Walk Leader
This walk is led by Clara Lee.
Walk Summary
As a part of London’s Walking Festival, we are working in collaboration with London National Park City to run this urban walk. Meeting outside King’s Cross Station, this walk is a linear walk along Regent’s Canal, strolling through Regent’s Park and ending at London National Park City’s Visitor Centre where refreshments and snacks will be provided.
This walk will take approximately 2.5 hours, allowing time for breaks during the walk.
This event is for plus size people of all genders to create a safe and inclusive space. We do not set a size restriction on this, but if you are smaller than a size 18/2XL we would ask you to consider if there might be other groups that you could attend.
Route description
The route is approximately 6.7km (4.2 miles) with a total elevation of 40m. The paths are paved throughout and the route is predominantly flat, with a few slopes when passing through the canal locks.
Leaving the station we will join the canal, passing through Camden Town after 2km, and then joining Regent’s Park after walking a further 1km. We will then wander through the royal park, passing London Zoo, the Boating Lake, and the park’s inner circle. After leaving the park, we will be walking the final 1km within the city to reach London National Park City’s Visitor Centre.
From the centre, the nearest tube station is Oxford Circus where you can take the underground back to King’s Cross St Pancras.
