Outreach Southwest volunteers, join us for a Level 2 Safeguarding training course.
Designed specifically for churches, charities, and youth-focused organisations, this interactive 3-hour course is delivered by experienced trainers from iqualifi who understand our context of working with Internationals, refugees and people seeking santuary.
Together in a group setting we will explore key safeguarding principles, including:
- Recognising signs and indicators of abuse
- Responding to disclosures
- Roles and responsibilities
- Reporting procedures and best practice
However, we will also be looking at issues specific to our context, including:
- Power imbalance between leaders and vulnerable adults
- Domestic abuse
- Good practice around related parties working together and mixed gender working groups
- Appropriate physical contact and cultural considerations
The training will be practical, scenario-based, and led with sensitivity and professionalism. On completion, participants receive a certificate of attendance to demonstrate compliance and commitment to safeguarding standards.
This safeguarding course will equip OSW volunteers for the kinds of environments we work in and is highly recommended.
The course is provided free to current OSW volunteers, tickets are limited, so please book early. Refreshments will be provided, free car parking in the church car park.
