Exeter Maths School Taster Day 1: Saturday 3rd October 2026 (MORNING)

If you love Maths and you think EMS may be for you, we strongly recommend you sample what we have to offer at one of our Taster Days.

This event is aimed at Year 11 students to give you a chance to meet staff and students and immerse yourself in the fun but demanding Maths, Physics and Computing challenges we are into here.

Taster Days are the only way to get a true feel of the unique, informal atmosphere at Exeter Maths School.

Timetable for the day:
First Hour - About EMS presentation - a parent/carer is welcome to accompany their child to this session
Remaining Time - Student Workshops - in Maths, Physics and Computer Science, lasting 1 hour each, including a break

No equipment or uniform is required. Booking is essential.

Please note that we are running five Taster Day Events overall; you only need to attend one event on the date that suits you best. Duplicate bookings will be removed.

Prioritised Waitlist Information:

If no more spaces are available for your first choice of date, please check if spaces are available on other dates first. If not, go to bit.ly/ems26td to join the prioritised waitlist. Five spaces are being held back for each Taster Day event - the prioritised waitlist will be used to allocate these spaces. Students who meet certain widening participation criteria will be offered the additional spaces first, but any student can join the waitlist. If there are still any spaces remaining after exhausting the waitlist, they will be released for general booking around 10 days before the event.
