Moonlight Harbour Swim

Porlock Weir is a special corner of Exmoor, with a wonderful safe harbour, lovely pubs and restaurants, and peaceful seaside strolls. As darkness falls lights shine out from the hostelries, and there is a magic in the dusk before the moon rises. When the high tide coincides with the sunset and the moon rise,  it is the perfect time for a Dusk Dip. Using illuminated tow floats we will carefully enter the water to enjoy the profound peace that falls across the harbour, and, clouds permitting, we can swim in the moonlight as it rises above Hurlstone Point. 

Some people might prefer to use wetsuits, if you own one. Others are happy just in a swim suit. Entirely up to you. Please bring a tow float with a torch if you have one, enquire if you want to borrow one.

Following our swim we can choose to pause for a hot or cold drink in one of the pubs. Or perhaps just enjoy the night and moonlight.
