Walking Forest's Honouring Cloth is an evolving collaborative artwork, co-created by stitching with thread and needle onto a giant recycled tablecloth. Come and stitch any ‘non-human wild being’ you wish to honour (living, passed, at risk of extinction): insects, plants, fungi, creatures or animals can be in stitched in full or in part (to be continued by another person).

While embroidering there are conversations stemming from the Honouring Cloth artwork regarding care for and wonder of nature, species and biodiversity loss, activism past and present and personal story sharing along with intermittent silent attention. We will also share narratives of Devon Suffragettes linking us to our inspirational female ancestors. The tablecloth will be completed in 2028 to mark the launch of Walking Forest’s intentional woodland to honour people who have stood up for the earth - past and present.

The Honouring Cloth has been stitched by people in different countries around the world and locally.
